Martin Lack & Associates was established in February 1994 and since its inception has emerged as highly regarded Professional Conference Organisers (PCO) specialising in the ICT industry offering management of secretariats, seminars and major conferences.

The principal of the company, Martin Lack, has 34 years of experience in the IT&T industry - selling, supporting and marketing high technology products to government and industry. The company has dealt with some of Australia's largest companies and has created an extensive network of personal and professional contacts throughout Queensland and Australia. These include the CEO's and senior executives of local and transnational companies, together with State and Federal politicians, their policy advisers and senior public servants. ML&A has also established excellent relationships with business industry associations such as AIM, CQ, ICAA, NIA, QMBA, RTSA and the ICT industry associations.

The company has four full time staff and a team of part time casuals available as required.

Martin Lack & Associates offers a complete conference service incorporating management of sponsors, speakers, trade exhibition, conference registration, venue and collateral to provide a quality conference anywhere in Australia. The company has established excellent relationships with many hotels within Queensland and interstate.

Secretariat Experience Summary
Australian Information Industry Association Since 1994 Jackie Lack has run the Queensland Branch Secretariat for the Australian Information Industry Association which includes managing their monthly luncheon (average 220 attendees) and annual golf day (180 players - 24 sponsors)
Women in Information Technology Since December 2000, Paula Brand has run Women in Information Technology which includes management of a monthly event (average 100 attendees), the annual awards night (200+ attendees), special interest groups and growing membership.
Concept User Group In 1996 Concept Systems International approached ML&A to facilitate the formation of a User Group for clients of their HR software package. Subsequently ML&A was appointed to provide a full secretariat service. The user group management committee has representatives in all cities of Australia and meets regularly by teleconference.
ML&A also runs the annual conference which rotates between the States
First Tuesday Management of a monthly cocktail hour where investors, consultants and those seeking funds and advice meet.

Conference and Event Experience of more than one day duration

Technology Train, October 1995 Martin Lack was the project manager of the first ever technology exhibition in Australia mounted on a train. Over a two week period it visited Maryborough, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, and Cairns and involved 8 display wagons and a total of 19 carriages. Costing a million dollars to stage it included sponsors such as Telstra, Integraph, Sun and Microsoft.

EDUCAUSE 2001 Conference Marriott International Hotel, Gold Coast, May 2001 In February 2000, ML&A was appointed by EDUCAUSE to assist with the management of their biannual international conference held in Queensland in May 2001.

Three day conference + one day tutorial 390 delegates from all States in Australia, New Zealand and SE Asia. Large formal exhibition;

HPC Asia 2001 Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast, September 2001
In September 2000, ML&A was appointed to manage the HPC Asia 2001 conference.
Three day conference + two days of tutorials with 220 delegates; 60% from overseas including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan. India, Thailand, New Zealand and the USA. Large formal exhibition; 12 sponsors; 57 speakers with refereed papers.
Software Engineering Queensland SEAQ2001, October, Grand Mercure, Broadbeach.
This was a two day conference for software developers with two parallel streams. 187 delegates attended from SE Queensland, the rest of the state and across Australia. Informal exhibition
SEA National Conference, September 2002, Royal Pines Resort. With the success of the Queensland conference in 2001, SEA is holding their national conference in Queensland in 2002. This will be a two day conference + half day workshop with anticipated delegates from interstate and Queensland expected to exceed 200. Informal exhibition
SPUSC2001, Holiday Inn, Brisbane, November 2001 2.5 day conference which attracted 144 delegates from Australia and New Zealand. Informal exhibition
WebCT2002, Carlton Crest, Melbourne, March 2002 Three day conference + one day tutorials for users of WebCT product. Expected to attract 250 delegates mainly within Australia. Large formal/informal exhibition
