Dennis Treece

Dennis Treece is the Director of X-Force Special Operations Group for Internet Security Systems, Inc. (ISS). Treece's global service operations responsibilities include the Global Internet Threat Intelligence Service https://gtoc.iss.net/secure/ito.php , Information Sharing & Analysis Center Operations, and Global Security Operations Center coordination and support. His staff runs the Global Threat Operations Center (GTOC), a state of the art detection and analysis facility in Atlanta that maintains a constant global view of the Internet threat combined with a view of real time threat activity on individual client networks on four continents. The global and regional situational awareness created in the GTOC supports the Internet threat needs of ISS customers, partners, the government, and the public.

Prior to joining ISS, Colonel Treece was an Intelligence Officer in the United States Army where he served 30 years in a multitude of security related positions from Vietnam to Desert Storm and from Western Europe to the Balkans. His specialties include network security, counter terrorism, counterintelligence, human intelligence, intelligence analysis and reporting. In his most recent post, Colonel Treece was Information Assurance Program Manager for US Army, Europe. His major functional responsibility was the defense of the Army's European automated information systems against all forms of attack. This network included over 100,000 users on more than 1,800 local area networks everywhere from The Netherlands to Kosovo, and from Belgium to Greece. He was responsible for all aspects of managed security services, including network access, IDS monitoring, emergency response, security policies, security education and training programs, public awareness campaigns, and all aspects of customer support. Immediately prior to that Colonel Treece was assigned to the Central Intelligence Agency as Chief, Military Coordination Group.

Treece holds a BS in Business Administration from Arizona State University and an MA in History from the University of La Verne, California. He is a graduate of the US Army War College and the Command and General Staff College.
