Dick Bussiere

Dick Bussiere is the Network Security Architect with the Office of the CTO, Enterasys Networks. His areas of responsibility and expertise are network security, including Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), firewalls, PKI and L2/3/4 security schemes (such as 802.1X). As Enterasys Network's Security Czar, he is responsible for defining and going forward with Enterasys Networks' security strategy. Dick chairs the Technical Council's Network Security Architecture Project Team, which deals with defining the Enterasys strategy for overall security architecture, user authentication, VPNs, Intrusion Detection Systems, firewalls and device security and management. His standards body membership includes both IEEE 802.1 and the IETF.

Dick joined Cabletron in 1994 as an engineer for the SecureFast switching group. He was responsible for the functional requirements and architectural definition of a next-generation VPN gateway device, the functional requirements and architecture of next-generation L2/3/4 switching devices, and for low-level firmware implementation of first-generation hardware L2 switching platforms.

At Lockheed Martin in Nashua, Dick was a firmware engineer. His responsibilities included hardware and firmware design and implementation of the communications subsystem of a large, multiprocessor surveillance platform, and of high-performance signal processing systems. He was also responsible for the communications subsystem development in the F22-Raptor Electronic Warfare (EW) system.
