Hayden is the first IT Risk and Information Security Manager to be appointed by AMCOR. He was appointed in 1999. Hayden has been responsible for the organising and managing of an IT Security capability to protect AMCORs global IT operations. This includes in part, writing the Global IT Security Policy, managing the implementation of that policy, and standardising security for AMCOR across the world. On 1st July 2001 AMCOR outsourced its Australiasian IT operations to Siemens Business Services. Hayden was involved in all the security aspects during the period of "due diligience" prior to the winning outsourcer being announced.

Hayden is part of the AMCOR IT Management team and is responsible for the management of all elements of the outsourcing contract from an IT Risk and Information Security perspective. This includes IT Security and Disaster Recovery. Previous appointments have been ANZ and Department of Defence.
