Rob McMillan Rob manages the Information Assurance program at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He has 18 years of experience in the IT industry, including 10 years of experience specialising in IT security. Prior to joining the Bank, Rob was General Manager of the Australian Computer Emergency Response Team (AusCERT), an organisation he co-founded in 1993, which is based at The University of Queensland. Between his terms of engagement at AusCERT, he spent almost four years working at Carnegie Mellon University's prestigious CERT Coordination Center in the United States. Rob's exposure in the IT security field includes incident response, vulnerability assessment and remediation, computer security policy development, consulting, research, and the development and delivery of training. He has hands-on experience as a systems programmer and network administrator. Rob's career highlights include a period as Industry Chair of the Federal Government's National Information Infrastructure Consultative Industry Forum, his key coordination role in international Y2K arrangements, and co-authorship of an article for the Encyclopedia of Telecommunications. |
