Terry Laidler

Terry is Executive Director of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology's CIRCIT.

CIRCIT's mission is to provide independent research and education on information and communication services. The aim is to create new knowledge that is relevant to the community, industry and government so as to increase the social and economic well-being of people in Australia and other parts of the world.

Prior to his appointment at CIRCIT, Terry Laidler was well known on talk back radio as presenter of two top rating programs. His balanced approach in handling difficult and complex social and public affairs issues were well recognised. As a result, he is often called on to facilitate Conferences and Meetings for Corporations, Government and Associations.

A Psychologist, Lawyer, ex Catholic Priest, Government Policy Analyst, Tutor and Broadcaster, Terry combines experience and depth in a wide number of areas as a unique commentator or facilitator.

Terry serves or has been part of a number of Boards and Committees including the Ministerial Council on HIV/AIDS, Brotherhood of St Laurence, Victorian Community Council Against Violence, the Port of Melbourne Authority, Melbourne Water, West End Nightspots Code of Practice Monitoring Committee, Legal Aid Commission, WorkCare, Intellectual Disability Review Panel, Victorian Attorney General's Law Reform Advisory Council, the Victoria Police Ethical Standards Consultative Committee, the Victorian Institute of Forensic Psychiatry, Australian Advisory Committee on Road Trauma and the ABC.
