Federal Agent Alastair MacGibbon is the inaugural Director of the Australian High Tech Crime Centre, which is a joint Federal and State policing initiative to address the emergence of high tech crime on a national basis. Prior to this position, Alastair was the Co-ordinator of the High Tech Crime Team in the Australian Federal Police.

Alastair has been with the Australian Federal Police for 13 years, and has served with the AFP in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra along with a posting to Washington DC as a Police Liaison Officer. Alastair has also been seconded to several agencies, including the Royal Commission into the NSW Police Service.

He holds a Masters of International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts, both from the Univeristy of Sydney, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
