Alastair Sharman Alastair Sharman has held a variety of Information Management and Security roles in the public and private sectors, notably with the Department of Defence. His roles have included the provision of information assurance and critical infrastructure protection advice to the Assistant Secretary - Security and managing the United Nations strategic risk and threat assessment capability in East Timor. Alastair has significant experience in the leadership and management of projects, staff and resources, strategic planning, capability development and contingency planning. This experience spans 12 years of service as an officer in the Australian Army followed by two years experience in the Queensland Government and private sector. Through his broad education he has developed highly effective written and oral communication skills alongside excellent research and analytical skills. His Information Management experience includes strategic analysis, information security, continuity planning and crisis management. He has held three overseas positions, managing personnel, resources and complex projects in sensitive multinational environments. These positions have enabled Alastair to refine his excellent interpersonal skills including liaison, consultation and negotiation capabilities. |
