Hamish Fraser
Hamish works with the Optus Risk team to help identify and minimise Optus' exposure to various risks. He has extensive experience in IT and IP contracting, having worked with both small and large IT companies, helping them with their risk management, contracting and privacy requirements. Hamish also has experience in IT-based disputes, both in the formal litigation process and by successfully negotiating settlements. Prior to joining Gilbert + Tobin, Hamish worked as a Senior Associate in the Technology practice at McCullough Robertson in Brisbane and has been in-house counsel for a telecommunications reseller. Hamish is a past president of the Queensland Society for Computers and the Law. He is a frequent speaker on IT issues and was a regular speaker for the Queensland Society for Computers and the Law and the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA). He also frequently speaks on the new privacy laws. Hamish graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 1986 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1992. Prior to working as a lawyer, Hamish practised as an engineer, predominantly in the area of computer programming for civil engineering requirements. |
