Steven graduated from the University of Melbourne and joined the Defence Signals Directorate in 1984 as a computer programmer. He has many years experience in systems design and project management. He joined Information Security Group in late 2001 and currently manages the computer security incident response and incident reporting programmes. In addition to his undergraduate degree, he has an MBA from the University of Canberra. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery, the Australian Institute of Management, and the IEEE Computer Society.
