Thursday 22nd May 2008, half-day program 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast
Become more confident in managing your organisation’s information security at the executive level. Learn from a special selection of information security experts and network with other senior managers.
We all know being CxO of a major organisation is an enormous responsibility, with some of the most difficult management decisions. For example, how would you handle:
- A massive leak of your company’s intellectual property which threatens the existence of your firm?
- Disruption of your business after handing over your servers to the Federal Police for investigation?
- Finding the 'secret recipe for 11 herbs and spices' on your company's server, and a popular chicken food company is accusing you of intellectual property theft?
The goal of the AusCERT2008 Executive Program is to get to the heart of the issues facing executives managing information security and its related impacts, by exploring scenarios that only senior managers face.
The AusCERT2008 Executive Program brings together a selection of AusCERT2008 speakers for one half-day only for the leaders of major Australian organisations to discuss their information security issues together.
The AusCERT2008 Executive Program has been developed specifically for CEOs and senior managers of major Australian organisations to network with their peers, and discuss information security scenarios in a closed and confidential forum.
At the AusCERT2008 Executive Program, CEOs, CISOs and senior managers will gain advice from some of the world’s most renowned cyber security experts. Executives will discuss their security problems in a non-technical forum with the heads of other organisations facing the same issues, in order to derive strategies for tackling them.
Notable speakers who will facilitate speaker-led discussions at the AusCERT2008 Executive Program:
- Ahmad Almulla, CIO, Dubai Aluminium Company
- Brian Snow,Former Technical Director for the Information Assurance Directorate, NSA
- David Rice, author of Geekonomics: The Real Cost of Insecure Software and internationally recognized information security professional and an accomplished educator and visionary
At AusCERT, we understand there aren’t many CxOs who can justify the time at a 3-day information security conference. Therefore, we’ve developed this half-day program, where some world-renowned cyber security experts together with the heads of major Australian organisations, will discuss the management issues of information security, run through hypothetical scenarios, and plan strategies for tackling the overall security of your IT environment.
This is a closed forum, is limited to a small audience to facilitate discussion and interaction. The venue is the Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, with state-of-the-art conference and accommodation facilities.
The AusCERT2008 Executive Program follows the main 3-day program of the 7th annual Asia Pacific Information Technology Security Conference, and will therefore take place on Thursday 22nd of May from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm, followed with an executive lunch.
The AusCERT2008 Executive Program is only $275. Event registration is limited to Executive managers of major organisations.
