The inaugural SC Industry Awards brought to you by AusCERT have several categories:

• AusCERT director's award for individual excellence in Information Security
  Presented to the individual who (in the past 12 months) has provided the greatest overall contribution to Information Security in terms of their work in the areas of Information Security community service, innovation, education, liaison, law enforcement, governance or leadership.
• AusCERT’s annual award for organisational excellence in Information Security
  Presented to the organisation who (in the past12 months) has provided the greatest overall contribution to Information Security in terms of their work in the areas of Information Security community service, innovation, education, liaison, law enforcement, governance or leadership.
• AusCERT’s award for law enforcement
  Presented to the law enforcement organisation who (in the past12 months) has provided the greatest contribution in the area of law enforcement work relating to online crime-fighting or investigations.

• CSO of the Year
  Presented to the individual who has implemented change with internal procedures above and beyond expectations with increased customer satisfaction, improved profitability or IT security strategy and is a Leader in innovation.
• Security Vendor of the Year
  Presented to the organisation which has increased customer satisfaction, improved profitability or IT security strategy, and been a Leader in innovation.
• Security Product of the year
  Presented to the organisation which has increased customer satisfaction, improved profitability or IT security strategy and been a Leader in innovation.
• Innovation Award
  Presented to the project/product/company/individual that has changed the traditional practice of IT security.

Submissions for each category are to be no longer than 600 words. Supporting documentation may be attached. The awards are open only to Australian citizens/residents and organisations with a substantial Australian presence and operation. Awards and Gala Dinner Tickets

Award Finalists will be announced 12th May 2009 prior to the AusCERT2009 conference, and the winners will be announced at the AusCERT2009 Gala Dinner to be held at Movieworld on 19th May 2009, 7:00 pm.

AusCERT2009 delegates are able to attend the Gala Dinner which is included in the entry fee for the conference.
