Colin Panisset is a Senior Systems Engineer and Architect for realestate.com.au, where he wrangles the challenges of availability, security, virtualisation and rapid deployments for one of Australia's largest online presences. He was previously Principal Security Engineer, IT Operations, for Sun Microsystems, where his focus on automation and widely-distributed networks enabled massive consolidation and streamlining of the global internal support and systems management infrastructure. He applies the same fervour and need to understand the deep root causes to both his work and his leisure: he is an avid homebrewer, metalcaster, cook and all-round maker.
