Nigel Hedges is a veteran in the IT security industry having worked in the sector in various capacities for the past 14 years. He counts among his highlights working for VET Anti-Virus, an Australian AV company prior to its acquisition in late 1998. After leaving VET Nigel remained in the industry for several year taking on numerous roles including system engineering, security analytics, presales consulting and management of security service teams. He has also worked in the insurance industry and for a global systems integrator, giving him a unique insight and appreciation of the challenges and needs of Australia’s enterprises. Nigel is responsible for the technical services function for Kaspersky Lab in Australia and New Zealand. In addition to his wealth of experience, he also holds several industry certifications including Certified Information Security Systems Professional, Certified Information Systems Auditor and Certified Information Security Manager.

This session takes a look at the background of threats and malware from the Kaspersky point of view, the technologies that are invested in, and how a culture of change adoption keeps Information Security fresh and effective within the organisation.
