AusCERT2012 Presentation

Optimising Security for Situational Awareness

Situational awareness is an organisational necessity in today's world of insider and targeted threats. Amplifying this necessity are pressures to embrace new trends in IT such as mobility, cloud, and virtualisation. It's time to re-think how we approach security and break down silos that have prevented data, network and endpoint controls from working in unison, and enrich those controls with situational awareness.

By attending this session, Attendees will be able to define requirements for an optimised situational awareness strategy within their own organisations. They will benefit by being able to recognise key areas for ROI and ROSI improvement, and they will be able to translate these areas into tangible points understandable by business leaders. Leveraging an optimised security strategy, attendees will be able to more quickly identify, analyze, and remediate threats. They will be more agile in their approach to newer trends in IT, and better align security with business initiatives.
