AusCERT2012 Presentation

Are You Ready for the Next Generation of Security Threats?

Hear how Next-Generation Firewalls provide unrivalled threat protection and application control in the wake of new sophisticated security threats.

The next generation of firewall is the smart generation. Technology trends such as mobility, Web 2.0, social media and cloud computing have dramatically changed the IT landscape. Now traditional firewalls are coming up short. Protocol and port number classifications have essentially been rendered ineffective in blocking threats.

In a bold move to reclaim control, CIOs and IT managers are looking to Next-Generation Firewalls with application-layer intelligence that stands strong against today's threats. It's that kind of fortified protection that will enable organisations to fully embrace and leverage such innovations going forward.

This presentation investigates how Next Generation Firewalls are designed to help organisations of all sizes, addresses the unique issues posed by Web 2.0, including employee use of unauthorised Web-based applications, streaming media, peer-to-peer applications (P2P) and protecting data sent in attachments and via email.
