
Nick Abrahams is a partner at Norton Rose and has been practising law for 20 years. He took time out of the law in the late nineties and worked as an executive at Warner Brothers and then as COO of listed dot com, Spike Networks, also in Los Angeles. Nick works on all aspects of technology, media and telecommunications law, including outsourcing, e-business, privacy and M&A.
Adrian Covich is a Principal Systems Engineer and heads the System Engineering team for Symantec.cloud in Australia and New Zealand. Adrian and his team are involved in consulting, designing and deploying Symantec's cloud-delivered security and storage services across the region. Adrian speaks regularly on security, software-as-a-service and cloud adoption.
Navigating the perceived roadblocks to cloud data storage compliance: a legal perspective
Many organisations are uncertain about the legal or regulatory obligations of storing data in the cloud. Nick Abrahams addresses APRA, Privacy Legislation, SOX, the US Patriot Act, State Records Acts and other data retention regulations. This session will help IT and Compliance Managers navigate some of the perceived roadblocks to utilising cloud services.
