Ross Oakley

 

Ross Oakley is the principal of Salt Group an Australian company specialising in Identity Management and Authentication systems product development and deployment, and in particular, the development of mobile authentication technologies.

Prior to forming Salt Group in 2003 Ross held executive and technology management positions in banking and technology services organisations over a 25 year period.

Since inception, Salt Group has been a pioneer in the development of mobile authentication technologies which are now deployed in government and finance sectors around the world and are resold globally by Thales eSecurity as part of their broader SafeSign identity management suite.

The demise of the once heralded specialised user security token is not only being driven by an unwieldy user experience, inflexibility in operations, and high total cost of ownership, but also by its inability to deal effectively with the ever increasing sophistication of internet and mobile banking assaults.

Intelligent mobile authentication mechanisms address these problems and also provide exciting opportunities for innovative workflow development.
