Context Information Security CTF

This year we are very excited to announce that Context, part of Accenture Security, will be hosting an online Jeopardy style CTF for AusCERT2020 on the 17th – 18th September.

This CTF has been designed for AusCERT conference participants to try their skills out against a range of challenges, including; Web, Binary Exploitation, Crypto, Forensics and more. Get involved in the CTF as part of a team or, if you’d prefer compete in it solo for even bigger bragging rights.

Whether you are new to CTF’s or a seasoned veteran there will be something for you here. The CTF Challenges have been designed for all levels of ability. So why not give it a go!

Facilitators from Context as follows:

Connor Scott
Connor is a Senior Security Consultant at Context Information Security based in the Melbourne Office, where he leads teams of consultants conducting a wide range of assurance and research services. He has been employed in the security industry for a decade, and earlier as a software developer. Connor enjoys and has a focus on open-scope red teaming, Internal/External network assessment, vulnerability discovery and exploitation, software security assessments and embedded device assessments.

Since joining Context a number of years ago, Connor has honed his skills in SCADA/OT testing techniques and methodologies. He has also helped build and deliver a number of CTF events and Training labs for Context’s clients and staff.

Michael Newton
Michael is currently a Security Consultant at Context Information Security based in the Brisbane Office, where he is works as part of the Queensland assurance team. Michael has been in the IT industry for over 20 years and in Information Security for the past 6 years.

Prior to joining Context Michael worked as part of an Incident Response and Security Operations team. Since joining the team at Context, Michael delivers a range of web application, thick client, infrastructure and mobile application assessments. In addition to working at Context, Michael supports a number of Australian security conferences with prizes for CTF’s and also enjoys participating in a CTF or two himself.

Gerard Kelso
Gerard is a Security Consultant at Context Information Security based in the Melbourne Office, where he delivers assurance services. He has had over 17 years of experience working in and around IT systems that cover a vast swathe of Australia. In addition to being employed with Context, he volunteers at a number of Australian security and entertainment conferences.

Before joining Context, Gerard worked in development, automation and maintenance of many different IT networks across a variety of industries from Schools to International Engineering

 

Secure Code Warrior: AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO SECURE CODING

Take some time out over the 3 days of the conference to join us for a Secure Coding Throwdown hosted by Secure Code Warrior. Put your skills to the test and see how many vulnerabilities you can identify, locate and fix in your chosen language and framework for your chance to be crowned a Secure Code Champion. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be an expert, hints are available along the way.

Tournament close: 3pm @ 18th September
Allow 90 minutes to complete the challenges, any time over the 3 days. Winners will be announced at the conference closing ceremony.

The Cyber Escape Online
