Georg Lippold

Mastercard

Dr. Georg Lippold is a principal engineer on the Cryptographic Architecture and Engineering team and part of Mastercard’s Emerging Corporate Security Solutions program. In this role, he is responsible for creating, reviewing and updating cryptographic standards as well as advising projects on security and cryptographic risk. Georg is also working in the ISO standardisation bodies for ISO 9564, ISO 13133 and ISO 13491. Georg joined Mastercard in 2016 with prior experience in the IT security consulting industry and the health care sector. Specifically, in roles as a PCI-DSS qualified security auditor and a certified information systems security professional. While at Mastercard, he has held previous roles as a business security engineer and security architect for the Payment Gateway Services program. Georg holds a PhD in Cryptography from Queensland University of Technology, Australia, and the degree of Diplom Informatiker (M.Sc.) from the University of Bremen, Germany. He currently serves as the chair of the Language Parent Support Group at Ferny Grove State High School. He is also appointed as a casual lecturer in Cryptography at University of the Sunshine Coast.
