Shelly Mills is the Cyber Security Improvements Manager at the University of Queensland (UQ), a Group of Eight university. She has been working in cyber security and data governance for the past five years, and brings additional experience in Communications and as a Board Director. In her current position she oversees UQ’s Cyber Security Improvements Program, oversees operational cyber security communications, manages a cyber security intern program, develops and delivers regular tabletop exercises, and manages a diverse team.

Shelly brings a non-traditional background, with university qualifications in Ecology and Public Relations, demonstrating the alternate pathways and options for career change that can be taken to enter the field of cyber security.
