Helen Teixeira

Helen is a Senior Consulting Director for Unit 42 across Japan and the Asia-Pacific (JAPAC). Unit 42 is Palo Alto Networks’ specialist team providing cyber security consulting services including Incident Response, Cyber Crisis Management, Defensive and Offensive Security, Threat Intelligence, and Strategy, Advisory and Cyber Risk Management. Palo Alto Networks is the largest cybersecurity company in the world, with over 85,000 customers, and a global team of 160+ incident responders, 200+ threat researchers and analyses over 500BN security events per day.

After completing a PhD in Solid State Physics, Helen started her early career as a financial futures and options market analyst and trader. She later put her problem solving skills towards the challenge of cyber security and now has over two decades of global cyber security consulting experience, combining deep technical knowledge with the ability to support CISOs to accurately measure and articulate cyber risk to Executive teams and Boards to support effective and defensible risk management decisions and oversight, as well as develop cost effective cyber strategies and roadmaps to manage this risk.

Throughout the last 21 years, she has guided organisations regarding the secure deployment of a myriad of new technologies, including more recent migrations to the Cloud, the Secure Use of AI and the benefits of Zero Trust. At Unit 42, Helen leads the delivery and development of the proactive advisory services for JAPAC.

 

Prior to joining Unit 42, Helen was a Managing Director at PwC where she led the national cyber risk management practice. She has delivered risk assessments and advisory services in all major sectors, including state government.
