AusCERT is Australia’s PIONEER cyber emergency response team.
AusCERT provides its members with proactive and reactive advice and solutions to current threats and vulnerabilities. We will help you prevent, detect, respond and mitigate cyber-based attacks. As a not-for-profit security group based at The University of Queensland (UQ), AusCERT delivers 24/7 service to members alongside a range of comprehensive tools to strengthen your cyber security strategy.
UQ is one of Australia’s premier learning and research institutions. UQ is renowned nationally and internationally for the quality of its teaching and research, ranking in the top 100 universities globally. Within the University, AusCERT is part of Information Technology Services (ITS).
Formed in 1993, AusCERT is one of the oldest CERTs in the world. AusCERT is self-funded and covers its operating costs through a variety of sources including member subscriptions, the annual AusCERT conference and service contracts.
As an active member of the Forum for Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) and Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT), we have access to accurate, timely and reliable information about emerging computer network threats and vulnerabilities on a regional and global basis. Additionally, AusCERT maintains a large network of trusted CERT contacts in North America, the United Kingdom, Europe and throughout Asia. We utilise these contacts to receive early warning of global threats and to assist in responding to incidents which span jurisdictions.
About the conference
The AusCERT Conference is the oldest information security conference in Australia.
Each year, we attract in the vicinity of 900 participants, approximately 50 sponsors and more than 50 speakers. The conference is held on Australia’s beautiful Gold Coast where the weather is fine and warm, even in winter.
The conference is a great opportunity to discuss IT security issues, network with industry peers, see the latest in IT security products and services, and enjoy 5-star accommodation, good food, wine and entertainment.
