KnowBe4

Dr. Kawin Boonyapredee is a seasoned cyber security executive and SANS Institute instructor whose work sits at the intersection of enterprise security, emerging technology, and leadership. With more than two decades of international experience, he is known for building and scaling resilient security programs while helping organizations prepare for the strategic implications of technologies such as quantum computing and artificial intelligence.

Across a career spanning more than 25 years, Dr. Boonyapredee has shaped security programs and digital transformation strategies across multinational environments. His early work in securing enterprise and FinTech environments laid the groundwork for leadership roles in risk, compliance, and cyber defense, informing the real-world context of the labs and instruction he delivers to SANS students. Before his current strategic leadership at Applied Quantum, where he serves as Global Chief Strategy Officer and APAC CEO, he held senior security and technology roles in both public and private sectors.

Dr. Boonyapredee holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Cybersecurity Leadership from Capitol Technology University, demonstrating deep academic grounding in the discipline, along with professional certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), and GIAC Certified Penetration Tester and Ethical Hacker (GPEN); each reinforcing his authority in both strategic and technical domains. His thought leadership appears in peer-reviewed publications and external media, where he explores quantum-era risks, cryptographic resilience, and cyber governance challenges with clarity for practitioners and leaders alike.

Complementing his industry leadership, Dr. Boonyapredee serves as a Dissertation Chair and Adjunct Professor in the doctoral cybersecurity program at Capitol Technology University. In both academic and professional settings, he is committed to developing leaders who can translate emerging technology into responsible, defensible security strategy. Students benefit from his ability to connect long-term risk thinking with practical decision-making—an approach grounded in the belief that effective cybersecurity leadership is built not only on technical knowledge, but on clarity, adaptability, and sound judgment.
